Representative honours for girls

Congratulations to Lurgan Ladies players Sam Todd, Sophie Hinds, Emma McMurray and Sophie Orr on being selected for the NCU U19 girls side to face the North West girls at Coleraine Cricket Club on Friday at 1.30. It’s a well deserved honour for the girls and the club and I’m sure everyone at Pollock Park wishes the girls well for the match.

Girls start with a win

Lurgan Ladies started their shortened season with an emphatic 55 run win over Instonians.
Batting first the Lurgan girls posted a formidible 128 run target to win for the visitors . Emma McMurray proved to be the mainstay of the innings and was very unfortunate to be run out just 1 run short of what would have been an excellent 50. Hannah Grieve hit 28, her innings including 2 fours and a six, while Jane Kilpatrick finished on 10 not out. In reply, Instonians were never up with the required run rate and Emma McMurray rounded off an excellent performance by taking 3 wkts for just 12 runs in her 4 overs. All the Lurgan bowlers proved to be economic and there was a wicket each for Cara Rainey and Samantha Todd as the visitors finished their 20 overs on 72 for 4 wkts.
