Gibson hits ton as 2nds win

A superb undefeated century by Callum Gibson dominated an excellent display by the 2nds as they beat Cliftonville by 103 runs in the league at Pollock Park on Saturday. In an innings that included seven sixes and eight fours, Callum’s century contributed to a Lurgan total of 183 for 5 wickets in their 30 overs. There were also useful contributions from opener Scott Wilson (20) and Iqbal Khan (17).

Lurgan’s bowlers continued the home sides domination of the match and as the visitors innings stumbled to 24 for 4 wkts, the town side were well on their way to victory. Opening bowler Callum Grieve contributed a tight 6 overs to take 3 wickets for 19 runs and Callum Gibson followed up his century with 2 wkts for 9 runs. There were 2 wickets for Neil Allen (2 for 28) and one for Iqbal Khan (1 for 22).
The win moves the 2nds up to 16 points, just 4 points behind joint leaders Laurelvale, Cliftonville and Cregagh.
