Victory for Ladies in Cup
A devastating bowling performance by Suzi McCollum paved the way for a convincing 10 wicket win for Lurgan Ladies in the 2nd round of the NCU Women’s Challenge Cup at Laurelvale on Monday night.
Suzi took 4 wickets for just 2 runs in her 4 overs as Laurelvale were skittled out for just 36 runs in 13.5 overs. There were wickets also for Emma McMurray, Zoe Kilpatrick and Lauren Breakey.
And it was Lauren Breakey who launched into the Laurelvale bowling attack, her undefeated 25 included five boundaries, as along with Chloe Neville they passed the Laurelvale total in just the 4th over.
It’s back to the league on Sunday for the ladies as they travel the short distance to the Lawn to play last year’s Premier League winners Waringstown with an 11am start.
