Lurgan Ladies made it 5 wins out of 5 after a keenly contested Women’s Premier League clash at CSNI on Saturday.
Batting first, CSNI scored steadily throughout their 25 overs with openers Cowan and Craig dominating the batting as the home side posted a total of 134 for 2 wkts in their 25 overs. Hannah Grieve (1 for 22) and Alex Craig (1 for 36) were the only wicket takers for Lurgan with Suzi McCollum (0 for 16) and Lauren Breakey (0 for 19) bowling valuable economical overs.
In reply, Hannah Grieve and Chloe Neville put on 72 for the opening wicket, laying the foundations for victory. After Chloe was caught of the bowling of McRoberts for 23 and Hannah dismissed LBW for 47 off Gillian, Nicola Spence (23no) and Zoe Kilpatrick (8no) saw Lurgan past the CSNI total with an over and 4 balls to spare.
The win keeps the Ladies at the top of the Premier League and needing two wins from their last three games to become champions.
